Two Week Challenge

                                      Source: imarunnerlover.tumblr.com
Yup, my gym bag is packed, and I am gonna do it...I will challenge myself to go to the gym/ workout in some way, shape, form for 2 weeks straight (*Experts have said that it usually takes about 2 weeks to form a new habit). I am usually pretty good at working out regularly (3x per week); yet, with school finals and all the holiday fiasco, I have gone off course. So, hopefully this challenge will get me back on track. Who's with me?!

PS. My current workout-mentality is: Do it to be healthy and de-stress, nothing more, nothing less.

Hilarious: The Girls with Glasses Show

I was blogging-it-up a couple evenings ago, and happen to stumble upon The Girls with Glasses Show. Man, are Summer and Brooke hilariously adorable and geeky! They have such great energy together and are so entertaining to watch. Not only are they funny, but they honestly have some great ideas in regards to decorating, renovating, and styling on a budget. Check them out when you get a chance. You're welcome ;)

Morning Plummies! There has definitely been a heat wave in San Diego this past week..and I am loving it! It's been in the 80's and high 70's all week; what a Winter huh? I hope this warmth lasts until the weekend so I can start attending my beach yoga sessions and get some color! :) Have a fabulous, fabulous day. Xo

Home Remedy: Moisturizing Hair Treatment

I know, mayonnaise in your hair sounds pretty weird; but, mayo is made from eggs, and the protein in those eggs help to keep your hair strong and healthy (same concept as those pricey Keratin Treatments). I cannot remember where I heard of this home remedy, but it is very budget-friendly, and helps restore moisture, shine, and softness to my locks. Depending on your hair length and thickness...you will need:
  • 3 Tablespoons plain mayo (any brand will do)
  • 2 Teaspoons olive oil ("extra virgin" is best because it is purest.)
Mix both ingredients into a small bowl. After mixing, begin slathering it on your hair. I like to section off the top and bottom portions of my hair, apply on the bottom section first, then work my way up. If your roots tend to get greasy, avoid the roots and focus on the ends. When you have evenly coated your hair, place a shower cap over your head for about 30 mins- 1 hour. I like to put one of those Twisty-Turbies over the shower cap for extra snugness. Then, I will usually go about cleaning my house, or paint my nails while I allow the mayo-olive-oil treatment to work its magic. After 1 hour, jump in the shower and shampoo and condition as usual.

I try to do this treatment about once a month. Try it out and let me know what you think!

Make that money, Honey!

Make that money, Honey!

Happy Monday morning! Hopefully work doesn't always feel like work. In the event that it does, at least you can be doing it in style. Looking and dressing great is by far not the most important thing in this world; however, it does tend to make people feel more confident. And hey, I say: the more confidence, the better! I have pulled together some basic work-attire pieces. These pieces can generally suit any body shape for women of any age. These pieces are so versatile because they can be mixed and matched; they can even transition from day to evening when paired with the right accessories, which means you get the most bang for your buck (which I always love)!

Easy Sunday morning

Plummies, good morning and happy 2012!!! I hope everyone had a wonderful celebration. Thank goodness NYE fell on a Saturday, because I will definitely be using this Sunday to recover from the festivities. For me, today shall include: walking my dog around the hood, off to a farmer's market for lunch and groceries, perhaps a quick workout, then church. How do you spend your Sundays?
