Morning Treat

Happy Friday, lovely Plummies! If you haven't caught on, I LOVE breakfast. I mean, who doesn't?! Well...actually, I do know a handful of people who don't eat breakfast, which is interesting to me, because, quite frankly, I can't function without it. 

I wake in the morning and go directly to the kitchen, pop a couple gummy multi-vitamins in my mouth, start up my latte machine, and prepare myself a quick meal. Usually I will eat something similar to my above creation. Have you guys ever tried toast with cream cheese and jam? If not, I highly recommend it! Seriously, peanut butter and jelly is amazing and all, but the cream cheese just adds that special oomph!

Go ahead, give it a whirl, You will be glad you did. :)

Also, this Sunday is my 26th Bday! Happy Bday to ME! :)

Happy Wednesday, Plummies! Spring is definitely in full swing here in San Diego. It is warm out, the flowers are blooming, and people are wearing bright and fun colors (I've been seeing so much neon on campus). 

Recently, I went to my local tailor and got some thrifted items altered; one piece being an amazing cobalt blue pencil skirt that I practically stole for about $4! I am so excited to wear it with a fun miss-matched top. Anyhow, I have put together a collage of some pieces that I am drawing Spring inspiration from. Happy Tuesday, Plummies! I feel it is probably time to get better acquainted with ya'll. Read on to learn more about yours truly.

Chores that you hate: Let's see: putting away laundry, cleaning the bathroom, washing dishes, I am sure there are more...

Dogs:  Benjamin (aka: Benny, see him in action here.). He is a Mexican doggy that we rescued. Half weenie, half rottweiler (I know, weird! Don't ask how it happened.). 

Essential start to your day:  My delicious latte from my Nespresso machine (Starbucks has nothin' on that bad boy.) 

Favorite color: Well, Plum, of course!

Gold or Silver:  There is room for both on my fingers. But more so gold these days.

Height: 5 feet 6 inches (I used to want to be shorter.)

Instruments you play: Piano.

Job title: MFT Grad student, and phlebotomist.

Kids: My furry little Benny-Boo.

Mother's Name: Sally. At times, I like to call her "Sal".

Nicknames: Sheel, She, She-She. Twink, Twinkie, Twinkle-Toes (last 3 used by my twin sissy.)

Overnight hospital stays: When I was about 9 months old, I was in the Philippines and contracted German Measles...I almost died, but God had other plans for me.

Pet peeves: I am pretty tolerant of most things...OH, when my bf leaves every cabinet, drawer, and door open.

Time you wake up:  When I can sleep-in: about 9am. But usually: 6:30 am. When I needta work at the hospital: 4:40ish am.

Vegetable you hate: Raw carrots are nasty solo.

What makes you run late: Probably blog surfing, FB, Twitter, Pinterest...and talking with my boyfriend about something interesting.

X-Rays You've Had: My arm when I was 5. My brother thought it would be fun to trip me while I was running to the dinner table. 

Yummy food you make: I cook a mean omelette, and awesome salmon with grilled veggies.

Hello Lovely Plummies! Last week I kicked off my "Style Crush" series, and plenty of ya'll seemed to like it. So I've decided to make it a weekly thing (for now). This week, my Style Crush is the beautiful, Jenny Ong from Neon Blush. She is also a Southern California blogger who is apparently fabulous at it! I so adore her laid-back, easy-going style. Here is more home office inspiration. My workspace is still in progress, and has been since December (check it out here). I will probably get it finished when I am done with school this May. This weekend, my office will turn into a guest bedroom because my good friends are staying with us for the weekend! I am so looking forward to seeing them. :)

Flaws & All

Happy 1st day of Spring, Plummies! Have you ever had chicken pox? I had them when I was about five, and it was so annoying. Even more annoying were the marks I was left with afterwards. (You can kinda see them in the picture above.) When I was younger, I used to be really self-conscious about them. Now, I've grown to embrace them. Things like these are a part of who I am, and what I have endured over the course of my life. Same with my freckles...I used to hate them, now I think they are kinda cute (in a Cabbage Patch Kid sorta way). 

Moral of the story: You only have one body, learn to love it, FLAWS and all.

Happy Monday, Plummies! I hope your Saint Patrick's day weekend was fun. I spent my weekend in L.A. celebrating my older brother's and good friend's birthday. My mom even came into town to celebrate with us. <3

Happy Friday, Plummies! Above is a picture of my sister and I on our 2nd birthday. Man, how time flies! On April 1st I will turning the big ol' 2-6! Yup, over the hump of mid twenties and headed right for 30. And you know what?...bring it on! Life keeps getting better and better, I just hope to never lose my child-like zest for life. After all, isn't life all about making friends, playing, and having fun? If it ain't, maybe it ought to be!

My philosophy on plenty of things is: subtle and simple is best. However, there are always exceptions...In the sunglass department, that concept gets thrown out the window, in the dumpster, and to the landfill. Living in sunny San Diego calls for nice, large shades. I mean, we gots-ta protect ourselves from those harmful rays, right? Plus, I think these over-stated specs are just fun!
