Finds Under $40

Finds Under $40

Forever 21: zipper boots / Forever 21 pointed boots / Forever 21 lightweight shoes / Forever 21 ballet flat / Forever 21 flat shoes / Studded Oxfords

In the midst of searching for the perfect fall booties, I found myself not only strapped for cash, but wanting something rather practical for everyday use. I eventually found myself wandering over to good ol' Forever 21.com. Boy, was I surprised at how much they stepped up their shoe game (no pun intended).

I cannot wait to get my feet into those new boots and I am definitely in need of a pair of a fresh flats for work. With prices from $16- $34, it's hard justifying not buying them!

Have a Happy Halloween, Plummies! Now, I need to scramble and find a costume for tonight. -Sheel

Happy Monday morning, Plummies. This past weekend I escaped my sunny San Diego, for even sunnier Los Angeles. My friends Karla and Rick drove down from our hometown of Hollister, CA to spend the weekend with us.

It turned out to be a micro reunion, and goodness did I need it. I didn't realize just how much I missed them until I caught myself laughing so hard I nearly spit up my chai latte.

It's intriguing that no matter how much time lapses in-between our visits, getting together feels like we are back in high school (in a good way), and the inside jokes, high school and college reminiscing, and current updates seem to be just what my heart needs.

Cheers to ancient friendships and delicious food!

Autumn Essentials

Autumn Essentials

 featuring revlon lipstick

Hello Plummies! It's actually beginning to feel kinda like Fall here in San Diego. Not because it's been getting cooler, but because it's been getting darker a lot sooner. I hope it gets a bit more chilly so I can make use of the boots I have stowed away.

Above are some fun things that I have been gravitating towards recently. Oh, FYI: Did you know that Bath & Body Works is having a huge candle sale? Their small candles are only $5 each and large ones are 2 for $20. My absolute favorite scent is "Leaves". It makes my whole house feel so cozy and festive.

Just a side note, I have been weaning myself off of coffee lately because I noticed that I had been practically dependent on it; like, headaches if I don't have it! (Yea, that bad) So, I have been substituting my morning cup of joe for chai tea lattes instead. I find the Tazo brand to be rather delicious.

Ok, that's all for now. Take care! PS. sorry for my absence lately, work has been rather demanding. I hope you understand. Xo

Happy Tuesday Morning, Plummies! This morning I woke up, made a smoothie, cleaned up the house, walked Benny, then hit the gym for a "Bodypump" class, all BEFORE 10am! Geez, what a great start, huh? *patting myself on the back*

I am starting this new regimen of going to bed at 10 pm sharp every night, and trying to get at least 8 hours of sleep because lately, my work days have been extremely long. Also, I might be starting a new job soon, so I know I will be needing all the rest I can get. (I have an interview today, so wish me luck!)

Above I have put together a neat little outfit collage inspired by San Diego's warm and sunny weather! It's pretty awesome that all you need is one statement piece that easily transitions from daytime to night time, with the right wardrobe pieces. Thoughts?

Wedding Series: The Engagement Shoot

Engagement Photoshoot

Location, Location, Location...

Happy Monday, Plummies! Yup, here is another installment of "Wedding Series". Today we are focusing on the engagement photo shoot...something that you can always look back on over the years and then share with generations to come.

I would like to share with you some ideas I have about attire and location of the shoot. Remember, your entire wedding, and everything leading up to it should embrace your unique style and personality as a couple.

While reading wedding blogs and learning about photography, I have come to understand that keeping your attire casual, comfortable, and neutral is perhaps the best way to remain relaxed and YOURSELF during your photo shoot. The last thing you want to be worried about is tugging your itty-bitty skirt down the entire time, sucking your tummy in, or adjusting your neckline. Also, make sure you scout out an environment that is special for you and your soon-to-be. Perhaps it is your favorite camping spot, the place you shared a first kiss, or the library that you met.

Attire Tip: solid colors and large prints photograph best. Tiny prints and crazy patterns may overwhelm the photograph and take away from the subjects (you and your sweetie).

If you are still very confused on what to wear, and where to shoot, just ask your photographer. If he or she is a local photog, she will most-likely have great ideas on which location best fit your personality and style. After all, thats part of why we pay them the big bucks!

Just remember to be yourself, dress comfortably, and have FUN!
